Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and FluentDeck. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

The service

FluentDeck is a language-learning web app. It lets you build and import vocabulary, generates cards, definitions, example sentences, practice passages and word audio, and schedules your reviews over time. We may add, change or remove features as the product develops.

Your account

You must give accurate information when you sign up, keep your login credentials secure, and take responsibility for everything done under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You must be old enough to enter into a contract in your country, and at least 13 years old.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law, or infringe anyone else's rights, while using the service;
• upload content you have no right to upload;
• try to gain unauthorised access to the service, other accounts, or the systems behind them;
• interfere with the service, overload it, or use automated means to scrape or extract data from it;
• resell or redistribute the service, or use it to build a competing product;
• use the generation features to produce unlawful, abusive or deliberately harmful content.

Your content

You own the content you create or upload: your words, translations, notes, images and written sentences. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, transmit and process that content, and to pass it to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy, strictly for the purpose of operating and providing the service to you. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained briefly in backups.

Generated content

Parts of the service produce text and audio automatically. Automatically generated language material can be wrong, and you should not rely on it as authoritative linguistic, educational or professional advice.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your learning goals.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost goodwill, arising out of your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from the profile settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these terms, if your use puts the service or other users at risk, or if we stop offering the service. On termination, your right to use the service ends and your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and material changes will be communicated in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION — REPLACE BEFORE LAUNCH], and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
